I work on a one-to-one basis enabling you to achieve excellent communication skills between owner and dog. I can also show you how to resolve any unwanted issues with your dog.
Imagine walking down the street with your dog by your side, always looking at you for direction. Imagine being able to take your dog off their lead and he or she comes instantly running back to you when called.
I can also show you how visitors can come to your house and not be jumped on or pestered by your dog as well as showing you how to keep your furniture intact and avoid the chewing!
Be The Pack Leader
All this and more is possible, when you start to assert yourself as the ‘pack leader’. Dogs are pack animals and when you bring them into your home, whether it’s a new puppy, rescue dog or older dog they will instantly start to check where they are in the ‘pecking order’. If the leadership role has not been taken by you, then your dog will instantly take the pack leadership role. This is when unwanted behaviour starts. Our dogs are non-verbally communicating with us despite us assuming that our dogs understand what we are ‘saying’. I can help you understand what your dog is trying to communicate to you and how you can communicate back to your dog in a language they will understand.
Your dog likes to know where they are in the ‘pecking order’ at all times, and would like a calm, assertive and decisive pack leader with an upright body language to take control. This is what makes your dog feel safe, relaxed, calm and happy.
You can still fuss and cuddle your dog as much as you like, let him sit on your furniture and sleep in your bed with you if that’s want you want. Once you have put in the boundaries and demonstrated that you are the pack leader then you can give your dog all the affection you like.
